Bathing in fragrant herbs and oils dates back to ancient Egypt and Babylonian times. Herbs have been used throughout the ages for medicinal and hygienic purposes. The Greek physician Hippocrates (circa 460-377 B.C.E.) known as the father of medicine, learned the healing properties of herbal baths through the ancient Egyptians. This is how hydrotherapy was born, which means “water cure”. Using fragrant herbs and flowers in baths has been deemed more potent than using essential oils.

Method 1) Add entire tea bag to boiling water and steep for at least 20-30 minutes. Pour into bath water (tea bag and all) and soak for 45 minutes. Soaking is key as your skin will absorb the tea’s nutrients slowly. The longer you soak, the more you absorb.
Method 2) Hold tea bag under running bath water while tub is filling. Toss tea bag into water and soak as mentioned above.
Bath teas from SRBC can also be used as a facial steamer.
Do not drink or ingest tea! For bathing only.
